How to search Oregon UCC records

The UCC page groups its search tools under one heading. The tools are the UCC Record Search, UCC Search Help, the Farm Products Master List and the Ending Noise Words List.

  1. Open the UCC page on the Secretary of State site.
  2. Choose UCC Record Search.
  3. Enter the debtor name as you would on a financing statement.
  4. Read UCC Search Help if a name does not match.

The noise words list is there to help with name matching, so look at it if a search finds nothing. Our UCC search guide explains why a debtor name search is a match on the name and not on an address.

How to file a UCC in Oregon

Online filing comes first on the page. The office lists File a UCC online beside the UCC forms and the UCC renewal report. If you prefer paper, the forms are PDF files that you print and send.

Whichever way you file, send one form only. The office treats a copy as an original filing, so a duplicate sent as a courtesy can be filed too. The acknowledgment section of the form tells the office where to return the filed document. Our UCC-1 filing guide shows what goes on the form.

How long does a filing take?

The office posts a Where's My Form box on its pages. It lists online UCC filings as processed now, and it lists mailed and faxed UCC filings with a processing date. Business Registry filings, which cover companies and not liens, are listed at 1 to 3 business days. The dates change daily, so read the box on the day you send.

A farm products rule

Oregon runs a central filing system for farm products. To get clear title protection under it, a buyer, commission merchant or selling agent must register with the Secretary of State and get a waiver of the specific farm product from the secured party listed on the master list. The registration form is FPR-1. A farm products financing statement has its own form, EFS-1.

If you want help, you can ask our private filing service. State fees are separate, and you can search or file at the state yourself.
