Nebraska's Secretary of State keeps its business register through the Business Services Division, from an office on N Street in Lincoln. LLCs, corporations, nonprofits and sole proprietors' trade names are all filed there. Filings go in through Document eDelivery, where you upload a signed PDF.

Two things are different here. Name checks are done by staff on written request, not by an online tool. And the state plans to replace its search and filing system with a new one before the end of the year, so links and screens may change soon.

The public corporate search runs on nebraska.gov. Search by name using one of several match styles, or enter the SOS entity account number. A reCAPTCHA appears before results.
